New Audiobook! Reading with Dyslexia: 10 Steps to success
Foreword
READING WITH DYSLEXIA is the culmination of 10 years of research and development at the Neuro-Linguistic Learning Center in Northern California.
The Neurolinguistic Learning Center was founded in 2006 by Gerald Hughes. Its principal mission was, and is, to help students struggling with the effects of Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The Reading with Dyslexia program was born out of this mission.
Reading with Dyslexia is a step-by-step, easy-to-implement process that addresses the four principal issues or subtypes underlying most reading struggles. These four issues are:
- Focus and Attention
- Sensory Integration
- Visual Perception
- and Auditory Perception
NLC research showed us repeatedly that when these four issues are addressed, most reading struggles virtually disappear.
With most remedial reading systems, struggling readers were required to spend hundreds of hours on phonics drills and remedial reading practice. Unfortunately, these programs typically fail to address the sensory and perceptual issues underlying the student's reading struggles.
In contrast, Reading with Dyslexia was designed to address the underlying issues associated with the most common reading struggles.
The results are that many struggling readers will increase their reading proficiency with just the first few hours of practice.
The Reading with Dyslexia step-by-step program is easily self-administered by teens and adults.
Younger children can be coached through the program by a parent or teacher.
The only requirements for success are the desire to read and a willingness to learn.
